BME Innovation Café

Researchers from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME VIK) have participated in several EU 5G research projects in recent years and are working closely with telecommunications companies and mobile service providers operating in Hungary in the research of 5G technology and the development of applications based on it. An important result of this cooperation is the construction of a private 5G network (BME-Nokia 5G Research and Innovation Network), unique in Europe, at BME. The campus's 5G infrastructure is part of a
5G Laboratory, which is the site for the development and demonstration of 5G-enabled applications. BME VIK considers it an important task to encourage and facilitate the participation of innovative Hungarian enterprises, especially SMEs (including startups) in the domestic and international 5G ecosystem.
